Christmas in July - The Penny Tree Workshop

Instructor:  Trina O'Rourke -  Trina invites you to come and challenge your creative self.

Date and Time:  TWO DAYS - 10am-4pm both days

Thursday, July 17, 2025 and Friday, July 18, 2025

Skill Level:  Moderate stitching level required, maximum 7 students

Class Fee:  $140 - two-day class + $66 starter kit (if desired - choose between a yellow-green or a blue-green option) + supplies

Class Details: This two-day workshop is technique based with some advanced stitches being demonstrated.  Add a simple frame to your finished project to create a conversation piece sure to become the focal point of any room in your house!  

NOTE - due to the limited time frame for this class and all of the techniques learned, we will NOT be learning how to make dorset buttons during this workshop as that is an entire day class in itself. 

Supply List:  Background piece of wool approximately 17" X 22 1/2" or a desired size of your choice, contrasting wool pieces in solids and different textures to add interest, cork pieces, dupioni, silks, ricrac, Creative Stitching book Second Edition, needles, Spoke Easy and Loop Easy templates, embroidery scissors, threads, metallic threads, specialty threads and a SewLine tri-colour chalk pencil.

Another fun 2 day class with Trina that will focus on ‘free form’ stitching.  This project is a combination of stitching and embellishing and will once again challenge your creative self.  There is no pattern for this project but rather we will spend two fun-filled days learning all of the techniques used to create the shop sample.
